Check RWVP status

You can use the checking tool to see if someone is a current applicant or is registered to work with vulnerable people.

You will need to have:

  • the application reference or registration number
  • last name of the relevant applicant or registered individual.

The checking tool will not show you applications that are incomplete, or registrations that are suspended, cancelled, refused or expired. Anyone without a current application or registration cannot work or volunteer in a regulated activity.

You must make sure your employer details are listed against your worker or volunteer’s registration details. You can add your details when checking the status of their RWVP, using the above checking tool.

You must remove your details if they no longer work or volunteer with you. Please update this within 10 working days of their last day with you. The worker or volunteer will be notified by email that their details have been changed.

Employer obligations

You must check the registration status of your workers or volunteers through the checking tool or Employer Portal before they start work. Please do not accept someone's RWVP card as proof of registration.

You should regularly check the status of your worker or volunteer's RWVP to make sure it has not expired.

See Employer obligations for more information about your legal responsibilities as an employer.
