When to renew your RWVP
Your RWVP is valid for 5 years. Before your RWVP expires, you will get reminders by email and/or text – so once you get your reminder, don’t delay!
Why you should renew your RWVP early
In 2026, there will be around 50,000 workers and volunteers in Tasmania who need to renew their RWVP. These high volumes may mean it takes longer than the usual 6 weeks for your renewal to be processed. Your renewal may also take longer to process if your information has changed.
Leaving your renewal to the last minute means you run the risk of your RWVP expiring – and may mean you cannot work or volunteer with vulnerable people, including children, in a regulated activity until it is renewed.
Renewing early won’t change the end date of your current RWVP. Your renewed RWVP will begin when your current RWVP expires.
If you have never held a RWVP, please submit a new application and do not apply for renewal.
