As an individual, you have these legal obligations:
- you must apply for Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP) if you work or volunteer in a regulated activity with children and are likely to have regular contact with children as a normal part of your duties, or you provide supports and/or services to a person with a disability under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in Tasmania
- ensure you hold the correct class of RWVP and keep this up to date if you change from volunteer to paid worker
- keep your personal and employment details up to date
- notify us of new criminal charges, convictions or orders.

Can a worker or volunteer start work while their RWVP application is being processed?
If you are a worker or volunteer, you can start with your new employer while your RWVP application is being assessed.
You must provide the name of your new employer in your application.
Until you receive your RWVP, you must be supervised at all times by someone who holds a RWVP while you are engaged in the regulated activity.
