Review of the Neighbourhood Disputes About Plants Act 2017
The Neighbourhood Disputes About Plants Act 2017 (the Act) establishes an accessible and efficient scheme for resolving disputes between neighbours regarding plants, such as trees and hedges. Section 39 of the Act requires an independent review to be conducted after the fourth anniversary of its commencement. In undertaking the Review, there will be consultation with interested parties, key stakeholders and the general public. Submissions open until 06-Oct-2023

Witness Intermediaries Panel
Witness intermediaries work alongside police, lawyers and judges to ensure that children and vulnerable witnesses are supported to effectively participate in the criminal justice process. Expressions of Interest are currently being sought for the northwest region of Tasmania.

Commission of Inquiry: Extension of final reporting deadline
The Commission of Inquiry into the Tasmanian Government’s Responses to Child Sexual Abuse in Institutional Settings has requested to extend its final reporting date. The Government has agreed in principle with the new date being 31 August 2023.
