Types of relationship certificates

Standard relationship certificate

Contains information submitted on the original registration application and is printed on official certificate paper.

Decorative relationship certificates

Decorative relationship certificates are printed on A4 size, superior quality paper, which makes them ideal for framing.  The certificates are packaged in a protective cylinder. There are two types of decorative certificates available:

1. Issued after the registration is complete

This certificate uses information submitted on the original registration application and is available in two different designs.  View decorative certificates

2. Ceremony issued certificate

After the Registrar has approved the application, this certificate is sent to a nominated person to be included in a ceremony. The registration date is nominated by the couple prior to the certificate being issued. This date can match the ceremony date, provided the ceremony takes place after the expiry of 28 days from when the application to register a Deed of Relationship was lodged. This is a requirement of the Relationships Act. The following information is completed on the day of the ceremony:

  • Celebrant's Name
  • Place of Ceremony
  • Signature of Celebrant
  • Signatures of Parties
  • Signatures of Witnesses

This certificate is available in two different designs.  View decorative certificates

Revocation of deed of relationship certificate

This certificate is printed on official certificate paper.
