Home Detention Order Suitability Assessments
The court needs to know that an offender will live at a suitable address before it makes a Home Detention Order.
The court needs to know that:
- the address can be electronically monitored
- other people at the address are willing to have the person live there, and
- there are no safety issues or risks that have been identified with the address
The Probation Officer assesses the suitability of the address. They will arrange to visit the address and talk with everyone who lives there. They will write a report for the court. If the address is suitable, the person will be required to live there as a condition of their order.
