As part of Seniors Month this October, Consumer, Building and Occupational Services (CBOS) will be delivering informative and practical education sessions designed specifically for older Tasmanians.
These sessions will help seniors navigate today’s consumer landscape with greater confidence, providing valuable information on how to recognise and avoid scams, protect themselves from fraud, and understand their rights as consumers.
With scammers continuing to use increasingly sophisticated tactics, staying informed is one of the best ways to protect your personal information and finances. Attendees will hear about common scam techniques, warning signs to watch for, and simple steps they can take to reduce their risk.
These sessions will also cover consumer rights and provide practical, real-world examples to help participants make informed decisions when purchasing goods and services.
Whether you are looking to increase your knowledge, support a family member, or simply stay up to date with current consumer issues, these free sessions offers useful information and advice for everyday life.
For further information about the sessions, visit the CBOS website.
Seniors Month is coordinated by the Council on the Ageing (COTA) Tasmania and celebrates the valuable contributions older Tasmanians make to our communities through a diverse program of events and activities held throughout October.
