Community Correction Order Supervision

A Community Corrections Order may require an offender attend supervision to work to address the factors that led to their offending behaviour.

Supervision requires the individual to attend scheduled appointments, take action, and make changes in their lives to decrease the likelihood of offending.

A Probation Officer will ensure the offender understands the conditions of the order. Individuals are required to maintain regular contact with a Probation Officer.

Case Management Plans

As part of supervision, the offender will develop a Case Management Plan with their Probation Officer.

The Case Management Plan may involve:

  • setting goals for the individual to work towards to help them stay out of trouble
  • referrals to organisations for specialist counselling
  • help with substance abuse
  • assistance with mental health problems
  • anger management strategies
  • talking about what led to their offending, and
  • any other areas in their life they find difficult

The Case Management Plan is reviewed during the order to review:

  • if goals are being met
  • if new goals are needed
  • how often the individual will have contact with a Probation Officer

The Probation Officer will track order progress by contacting family members, employers, referral agencies and other sources of information.
