What is your area of expertise? Alternative sentencing, strengths based interventions and best practice staff training and development, working on a publication in this area at the moment

How long have you worked at the Department of Justice (DoJ)? 16 years

What other roles have you undertaken at DoJ? I commenced with The Department of Justice as a Probation Officer, acted in Team Leader and Project Officer roles before working with Corrections Victoria as a Case Manager in the Sex Offender Management Branch for 2 years. I then returned to Tasmania in a Team Leader role at Tasmania Prison Service, before coming back to Community Corrections

What do you enjoy about working at DoJ? I love the diversity of opportunities, and working with people who are passionate about working with offenders

What advice do you have for someone considering a career at DoJ? No experience is bad experience. Consider any roles and take opportunities when they come to you, and remember that one of the best things you can do is make strong connections with people
