Graduates and students

School-based trainees

We regularly engage school-based trainees through the Tasmanian State Service School Based Traineeship Program.

This program offers employment opportunities for Year 11 and 12 students that combine paid employment with vocational training and TCE schooling. Students are able to gain a nationally recognised qualification, such as a Certificate II or III, complete their TCE through Year 11 and 12, while working part-time with Justice.

The program has an annual intake. Positions are generally advertised on the Tasmanian Government Jobs website around August/September.

To learn more about the program, listen to previous and current trainees from across the Tasmanian State Service in this School-based trainees video.

Graduates

We recruit graduates each year as part of the Tasmanian State Service Graduate Development Program (TasGrad).

You will gain on-the-job experiences and participate in a formal structured learning and development program with other graduates across the Tasmanian State Service.

  • training and development to help you build key skills to enhance your career
  • excellent employment conditions and a competitive salary
  • a supportive environment where you meet and connect with a variety of people including other graduates.

TasGrad has an annual intake. Positions are generally advertised on the Tasmanian Government Jobs website around August/September.
