*NOW CLOSED* Children and young people survey

Published: 20-09-2022

Children and young people living in Tasmania are encouraged to share their views as part of public consultation on a Bill to establish a new legally mandated child and youth safe organisations framework.

The Child and Youth Safe Organisations Framework is based on the recommendations of the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.

It will require organisations that work with children and young people to take specific steps to keep them safe and respond effectively where incidents of harm do occur.

Public consultation is presently underway on the Bill to establish the framework, and will close at 5pm on Saturday 1 October.

Children and young people are encouraged to share their views on key elements of the framework via this short survey as part of this consultation process.

They can also access an accessible explainer of the framework (PDF, 1.3 MB), as well as a child-friendly poster explaining the Child and Youth Safe Standards (PDF, 137.0 KB).
