Online forums on the Child and Youth Safe Organisations Framework

It’s not rocket science. It’s basic human decency to make sure that children under your care are safe.

Online forums

Online forums were held from late September through October and November 2023 to help organisations understand how the Child and Youth Safe Organisations Framework applies.

The online forums invited all workers (including volunteers) from organisations that engage with children and young people to come and hear from the Department of Justice team supporting the establishment of the Framework.

The forums were delivered over three groups:

  • Overview forums
  • Child and Youth Safe Standards forums
  • Reportable Conduct Scheme forums

You can request a separate recording of the forum content by sending an email to: cysof@justice.tas.gov.au

Slide packs are also available for the introductory session (PDF, 1.2 MB) and the Child and Youth Safe Standards session (PDF, 851.4 KB).

While these online forums focused on describing the Child and Youth Safe Organisations Framework, we recognise the subject of child and youth safety in institutional settings may cause distress. If at any time you feel that you would like to speak with someone there are services and support groups that can help, these are outlined at the bottom of this webpage.
