Letters of administration
- Witness the administrator’s oath
- Ensure the administrator takes the required oath for the application of letters of administration.
- Verify the will (if applicable)
- Confirm whether there is a will attached to the application, depending on the circumstances.
- Witness the administrator’s bond
- Ensure the administrator signs the bond, which ensures they will deal with the estate according to the law.
- The same person who administers the oath must witness the bond.
- Sign the documents
- Sign all necessary documents related to the administration of the estate.
- Print your name
- Print your name under your signature on the documents.
- Insert your JP identification number
- Include your JP identification number next to your signature.
- Ensure clarity for future legal proceedings:
- Make sure all details are accurately recorded to ensure validity if the witnessing is ever questioned in future legal proceedings.
