Update your details

The Justices of the Peace Act 2018 (section 17) requires all Justices of the Peace (JPs) to advise the Secretary of the Department of Justice within 21 days after a change in circumstances, including name, residential address or contact details.

JPs must also advise the Secretary if they cease to be Australian citizens, become insolvent or have been charged with, or found guilty of, an offence punishable by a term of imprisonment of six months or more. A JP who has been charged with such an offence must also notify the Secretary, in writing, of the outcome of the proceedings on the charge within 21 days after the charge has been determined.

Let us know of a change in your details or circumstances by filling in and submitting the online form below, by writing to the Secretary of the Department at GPO Box 825, Hobart, 7001 or by emailing JP@justice.tas.gov.au.
