My Registration

My Registration

You can manage your registration details online using My Registration. This includes:

  • renewing your registration
  • changing your details
  • changing registration class
  • ordering a replacement card
  • paying outstanding fees

Registration renewal

To renew your registration, go to My Registration and complete the online renewal form and pay the fee.

When to renew

  • You should complete your registration renewal at least 3 weeks before your expiry date to remain registered.
  • If your information has changed (such as a change in any relevant criminal history), your renewal may take longer than 3 weeks to process.
  • If your registration has expired, you can still renew. Your registration will start from when you are re-registered.
  • If your registration expires, you will not be able to work or volunteer in a child-related activity until you are re-registered.


  • The application fee can be paid online (by credit card) or delayed and paid at Service Tasmania.
  • The fee is not refundable.
  • Payment methods accepted at Service Tasmania include cash, Visa, MasterCard, EFTPOS, cheque or money order.

Information you will need to have ready

  • Your registration card number
  • The full address of every place you have lived for the past 3 years (including dates you lived at the addresses) – if your address has changed
  • Details for your employer or volunteer organisation where you will be doing child-related work (including name, address, phone number, contact person, start date and email address) – if this has changed in the past three years
  • Details for other registration, accreditation, approval or licensing authorities (where relevant)
  • Details of any overseas offences in the past 3 years
  • Details of any family violence orders, restraint orders, apprehended violence orders taken out against you in the past 3 years
  • Details of any child protection orders where you have been involved

Service Tasmania

You only need to visit Service Tasmania to:

  • Pay the application fee (if you haven’t paid online)
  • Have a new photo taken (if you wish to update your photo, or your current photo has expired)
  • Agree to the terms and conditions of application (if someone else has completed the online renewal on your behalf)

Reminder notices

Renewal reminder notices will be sent via email or SMS prior to the expiry date. You can renew up to 90 days before your expiry date.

You can update your contact details at any time using My Registration.  It is up to you to make sure your contact details are up to date.  If you haven’t provided an email or mobile contact, you can call 1300 654 499 to add these details to your registration.

Change your details

You must notify the us within 10 working days if your details change.

Visit My Registration if any of the following have changed (you will be sent a SMS or email verification code to access your registration details):

  • residential / postal address details
  • class of registration
  • telephone numbers
  • email address
  • employment and volunteering details
  • overseas offence details
  • family violence order details
  • restraint orders / apprehended violence orders
  • child protection orders

Change from volunteer to employment/volunteer

  1. Visit My Registration
  2. Update the class of registration from volunteer to employment/volunteer
  3. List the details of your employer/s and volunteer bodies and pay the change of class fee online by credit card or defer the payment and visit Service Tasmania to pay. After the fee has been paid, a new registration card will be sent to you within 21 days,

Note: It is an offence to work while holding a volunteer class of registration and it is an offence for an employer to engage a person to work while holding a volunteer class of registration.  To work with vulnerable people a person must hold employment/volunteer class registration.

Change of name

You will not be able to update your name online as evidence must be provided.

To change your name, visit  Service Tasmania with evidence of your new name. For proof of identity requirements see the Proof of Identity  (pdf, 188.2 KB) fact sheet.

A paper form is available for interstate or overseas applicants not able to visit a Service Tasmania shop.  Please contact us to request the form.

Change of criminal history

If your criminal history has changed since you were first registered, you must notify the Working with Vulnerable People Registration in writing within ten (10) working days of being charged, convicted of, or found guilty of a relevant offence (Section 47 of the Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Act 2013). A relevant offence is outlined in Section 3 of the Act.

Replacement Card

You can apply for a replacement card through My Registration. The fee can be paid online. A new card will be posted to you within 21 days of payment being made.

Change of sex

To record a change of sex please contact us so we can provide details of what is required as evidence.
