Working with Children on Facebook

Verify your workers and volunteers

If you are an employer or volunteer body you must check the status of your workers and volunteers online to ensure they have a current Working with Children Registration.

The process for verifying an employee's Working with Children Registration is online only.  You must not accept the Working with Children Registration card or paper evidence as proof of current registration.

To use the online system you will need your worker's Working with Children Registration card number and surname.

If your organisation is not listed as an employer or volunteer body, you can add your details on this page. The card holder will receive an automatic email to let them know their details have been changed.

When to verify

If you're hiring a new worker or engaging a new volunteer, you need to verify that they have Working with Children Registration before they start work.

For existing workers (and volunteers) it is good practice for employers to periodically review workers registration status to ensure they are meeting their obligations under the Act.

All existing workers and all new and existing volunteers will be phased in according to the industry they work in.
