WorkCover Tasmania Board - Members

The Government of Tasmania is seeking expressions of interest in appointment as a member of the WorkCover Tasmania Board pursuant to the Workers Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988.

The WorkCover Tasmania Board works with employers, workers, licensed and self-insurers, doctors and others to reduce work related injury and illness in Tasmania, and aid the early return to work of injured workers.

Expressions of interest are sought from persons who are eligible for appointment in the following categories:

  • a medical practitioner or a registered nurse
  • an Australian lawyer
  • a person with extensive experience in the workers compensation insurance industry
  • a person with expertise in the evidence base related to management of work-related injuries and who advocates for, or has experience in respect of, the interests of injured workers and
  • a person with expertise in the evidence base related to management of work-related injuries and who advocates for, or has experience in respect of, the interests of employers.

Appointment is by the Governor-in-Council for a period not exceeding 3 years. Members receive remuneration of $28,982 per annum.

The Tasmanian Government is committed to increasing women’s participation on government boards and committees and openly encourages expressions of interest from eligible women for appointment to the Board.
