Research projects

The Prison Service has collaborated with a number of students and research groups in recent years to assist with research projects on both national and local levels.

If you wish to conduct a research project involving the use of information held by the Prison Service, or requiring access to prisoners or staff for interview purposes, you should submit a written request to the Director of Prisons, in accordance with the guidelines set out in Director's Standing Order 5.6 'Research Projects'.
