The Office of Legislation Development and Review:

• provides policy advice and research services to the Attorney-General and the Government to assist in formulating new policies and developing new legislation
• assists the Attorney-General in discharging parliamentary, legal and ministerial duties
• reviews laws to ensure they are relevant to contemporary needs
• assists other agencies on legislative issues
• advises the Attorney-General on Commonwealth/State ministerial meetings
