Planning is fundamental to our daily lives. It affects the way that our cities, towns and rural areas look, work and interrelate. It touches each of us in some way. Much of of the State's planning system is delivered on a day-to-day basis by Local Government through planning schemes.
Tasmania's Planning System Review 2008
The Review was announced by the Minister for Infrastructure, Resources, Planning and Workplace Relations on 5 March 2008.
The Project is about keeping Tasmania's Planning System up-to-date and 'in tune' with recent Government initiatives and policy directions.
Simplifying Planning Schemes Project
The project was established under a State-wide Partnership Agreement & has been successfully concluded following the issue of Planning Directive No.1.
