Review of Administrative Appeal Processes Program

This program consists of eight projects and is based on the recommendations of a review of administrative appeals processes in Tasmania's justice system conducted by the then State Services Commissioner, Greg Vines.

The Vines report was released on 4 July 2003.

Three of these projects have been completed:

  • implementation of the Public Interest Disclosure Act 2002 on 1 January 2004
  • establishment of the Tasmanian Administrative Review Advisory Council on 1 July 2004
  • review of the Ombudsman Act 1978. Legislation based on the results of the review is currently being developed.

Other projects which will follow during the 2004-2005 financial year include a review of the Anti-Discrimination Act.
