Public Interest Disclosure

Department of Justice employees, other state servants, contractors or former contractors can report any improper conduct (or detrimental action) by Department of Justice employees or officers.

The Public Interest Disclosures Procedures are based on the Public Interest Disclosures Act 2002 (commonly known as the Whistleblower legislation).

The Act and the Departmental procedures:

• provide protection for people who wish to make a discloure (complaint).
• establish a system for the complaint to be investigated.

Reporting a disclosure

A disclosure about improper conduct or detrimental action by the Department or one of its officers may be made in person, by telephone or in writing to the following:
