Corporate information

The Department of Justice contributes to a just and safe society by providing systems and services for the promotion and maintenance of rights and responsibilities and the resolution of disputes, for the benefit of the Tasmanian community.

Ministers

The Department is responsible to four Ministers:

  • Hon Brian Wightman MP: Attorney-General and Minister for Justice
  • Hon Bryan Green MP: Minister for Planning
  • Hon Nick McKim MP: Minister for Corrections and Consumer Protection
  • Hon David O'Byrne MP: Minister for Workplace Relations

Office of the Secretary

The Office of the Secretary provides corporate leadership to all areas of the Department.  It acts as a centre for integration and coordination of functions, activities, policy and practice and manages significant organisational change projects.
 
The Secretary of the Department of Justice is Ms Lisa Hutton and the Deputy Secretaries are Mr Michael Stevens and Mr Robert Williams.
