Treatment Services

The range of treatment options available for offenders will depend on what is most suitable for their needs but may include some or all of the following:

Individual counselling
Group counselling
Residential rehabilitation
Case management
Detoxification (via the State Alcohol and Drug Service)

Length Of A CMD Program

The length of the program can vary depending on the specific needs of the offender, however, generally:

At Bail: The program will be no longer than the term of bail, but will generally run over approximately 12 weeks
Through conditions attached to a community-based order: The length of treatment may be longer than at bail but will be no longer than the length of the order that the Court gives
Through a Drug Treatment Order: These orders are longer in length and may last between 12 to 18 months depending on the progress of the offender.
