The new building legislation, effective from 1 January 2017, will mean a number of changes for building and plumbing practitioners.

Changes for builders

The new building legislation affects you in three areas:

  • Changes to the type of buildings you can build without getting a building permit
  • Changes to your accreditation process
  • Introduction of building contracts and improved dispute resolution processes.
