On 1 December 2017 metering arrangements and rules changed as part of what is known as 'Power of Choice'.
These new changes create flexibility and allow retailer and metering providers (the installer) to offer a wide range of electricity products.
TasNetworks no longer install consumer meters. They still own existing meters and will help in the transition phase.
Metering is now the responsibility of the retailer and their appointed Metering coordinator/provider.
